Experience the thrills of abseiling, focusing on developing good technique, safe practice, personal confidence and having fun. The day commences with an introduction to the instructors and a general safety brief, followed by an overview of the equipment used during the program and fitting of personal gear, a demonstration on abseiling technique and further specific safety points. Our high instructor to participant ratio (1:8) ensures the safety and quality of your experience throughout the day. You are then closely supervised through a mock descent in which you learn about attaching to and disconnecting from the rope, safety calls, and the back-up braking procedure. Then it's off to the nursery slope for your first abseil. It's nearly all downhill from here (except for the walk back up between descents). As your confidence and skills develop under the encouraging direction of the instructors, you move on to more vertical and higher rock faces. Our aim is to help you develop the confidence to tackle the main face by the end of the day. Those of you seeking further challenge may wish to attempt the exhilaration of forward run downs - abseiling face first down the cliff!
What makes this abseiling day different is that we also include rock climbing in the day's activities.
This is a great lead-in program for both our Single Rope Techniques course and Bluff Knoll Abseil (250 metre descent).

Testimonials
The staff were really fantastic! They built a great rapport with all the participants and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. - Kym, WA
Allan & I had a great day and an experience we will always remember, thank you to Adventure Out, we are already recommending you to our friends! - Shelly, WA
We were both incredibly impressed by the professional and courteous manner of (the instructors). My husband was carried away with the adrenalin rush of it all - whereas I was pretty terrified for the majority of the day! However, I would just like to thank (lead instructor) for his amazing ability to put people at ease, give them confidence and be so so so patient and respectful. - Kerri, WA
This one-day abseiling program suits both the novice and experienced abseiler. The day has been designed to allow you as many descents as possible with the additional opportunity to try some rock climbing. The focus is on developing good roping techniques, safe practices and a high level personal confidence to take on all challenges, but most of all to have fun.
The day commences with an introduction and welcome by our friendly skilled instructors followed by a venue safety briefing, an overview of all roping equipment used on the program and fitting of personal abseiling gear. A demonstration of abseiling techniques followed by a short practical session using these skills on level ground helps to reinforce these techniques. A final briefing on safe roping practices and now we are ready, it's off to do our first descent, about 9 metres high on the nursery face.
It's nearly all downhill from here (except for the walk back up between descents). As your confidence and skills develop under the encouraging direction of the instructors, you move on to vertical, over hanging and higher rock faces. Our aim is to help you develop the confidence to tackle the main face (approximately 35 metres – Stainless Steel) by the end of the day if the day. Those of you seeking a further challenge may wish to attempt the exhilaration of a forward run downs, (abseiling face first down the cliff).
What makes this abseiling day different is the bonus of another roping activity, rock climbing. Try your hand at climbs up to 20 metres.
