Experience the thrills of abseiling, focusing on developing good technique, safe practice, personal confidence and having fun.
The day commences with an introduction to the instructors and a general safety brief, followed by an overview of the equipment used during the program and fitting of personal gear, a demonstration on abseiling technique and further specific safety points. Our high instructor to participant ratio (1:8) ensures the safety and quality of your experience throughout the day.
At a massive 280 metres, Bluff Knoll is simply the ultimate weekend abseilling experience! This is where West Australian abseiling culminates, with a 280-metre multi-pitch descent! Two days in the south west of Western Australia participating in a challenging activity that is totally different to the normal abseiling experience.
Bluff Knoll overlooks the Stirling Ranges and surrounding farmland, affording magnificent views in all directions. One of the unique experiences this activity offers is gazing down on the majestic Wedge Tail Eagles as they soar under you. Once you're on the cliff face, they often fly within 10-15 metres to take a closer look. Bring your camera - you won't get many opportunities like this!
Have you heard of the terms 'lock-off', 'self-rescue', 'one-on-one rescue' or 'change over'? Ever wondered how to climb back up a rope when caught in space on an overhang, or abseil past the point where two ropes are joined? When securing an anchoring system, are you sure that those knots you've tied aren't going to let you down, and that the belay anchors will do the job you ask of them?
The Single Rope Techniques (SRT) course is designed to teach you all this and more. It builds on your basic roping skills and experience and at the conclusion of the program you will have the answers to all these questions and be able to manage yourself safely and confidently in a vertical environment.
This is is an excellent two day program for those of you who are just starting out climbing, or have been training on gym walls and are ready to start outdoor climbing.
Adventure Out has been conducting climbing courses in Western Australia since 1984. Our excellent safety record and the fact that the majority of participants go on to advanced courses stand as testimony to the quality and value of our rock climbing program. We are also the preferred trainers for the Climbing Association of Western Australia.
Ever wondered how to Frog Step, Cross Over, Bump, Elvis Leg or Rock On? You won’t be dancing these moves but you will be rock climbing.
Adventure Out’s Rock Climbing Full Day adventure is designed for those with little or no rock climbing experience and wish to either start or extend their rock climbing abilities in the outdoors. Compared to indoor climbing, outdoor rock climbing requires you to choose your own route, thereby increasing the difficulty and complexity of the activity. As such, outdoor rock climbing gives you a greater sense of personal challenge and achievement.
Adventure Out's Lead Rock Climbing course is an instructional course designed to develop the technical skills, experience and confidence needed to safely pursue lead rock climbing.
The course is conducted at Churchmans Brook, near Armadale. The crag offers a full range of climbing challenges and serves as an ideal environment for learning the art of protection placement (camming devices, stoppers, hexentrics, etc.) which is integral to lead climbing.
The Margaret River Discovery is a high quality program of fun and excitement. We combine the three challenging activities of rock climbing, abseiling and caving in the magnificent Margaret River area for an inspirational weekend you won't forget.
We leave the hustle of the city life behind on Friday evening for the tranquility of a bush camp. On day one we head for the Willyabrup Sea Cliffs which overlook the beautiful Southern Ocean. Your day begins with a thorough equipment and safety brief, given by your experienced instructors. Then it's all action as you develop your technique on the small slopes. By the end of the day you will have mastered the 30 metre sea cliffs. Rock climbing your way back to the top is the challenge that gets you higher.
Adventure Out's white water rafting trips combine all the elements of a memorable adventure - beautiful scenery, thrilling rapids, solitude and relaxation. Each trip is carefully geared to meet your level of experience and sense of adventure.
