Adventure Out

Kimberley Remote Wilderness

East Kimberley Region

The Kimberley is well known for its ancient geography, diverse and unique mix of inhabitants and industry. A visit to the region will leave you with lifelong memories of the breathtaking scenery, unique Aboriginal rock art and ancient culture. The region is listed within the top ranks of WA's most iconic tourist attractions.

Adventure Out's Kimberley treks and vehicle tours will allow you to experience this region as nature intended, walking and camping throughout areas that retain a remote ruggedness and pristine beauty. There is something truly special about this wild assortment of gorges, waterfalls, canyons and towering rocky domes.

We offer a Trilogy of back packing treks between 70-85kms each. Starting from the Chamberlain River and finishing at Lake Argyle. This can be taken as a 225km trek over 23 days or in separate sections as per below, at different times. Trilogy Trek 1 (T1), Trilogy Trek 2 (T2) and Trilogy Trek 3 (T3).

We also offer a truly remote experience with our Remote Wilderness Treks accessible by aircraft only. These treks include Kachana Circuit and Kachana Gorges both featuring waterfalls, swimming holes, canyons, gorges and a diversity of plants and wildlife.

For those who are active and interested in a light weight trek, you can still enjoy the many spectacular sights of the Kimberleys with all its diversity on our vehicle supported tours. We have a 7 day Pioneering Outback Trail and the 5 day Outback Spirit Trail, both include historical and culturally important places, day walks and camping.

Our Cultural Tours also have several elements including camping, fishing, aboriginal culture and the Bungle Bungles. These trips are ideal for families to enjoy in the school holidays.

Adventure Out is an eco certified ecotourism business and subscribes to the policy of protecting the natural environment and indigenous culture that make much of the Kimberley a natural icon and so unique in the world. We ensure we treat the region and those that call it home with integrity and respect, ensuring the preservation of their rights. For more information regarding ecotourism visit Ecotourism Australia and The International Ecotourism Society.

The dry season is best time to participate in a trek. The dry season falls between April and October. We run our programs during these months (please see set dates below for 2012) however with a minimum group size of 4 people we can run a trek and/or tour outside these dates.

Please be aware that the Trilogy treks can be moderate to hard. You will be required to carry up to 20kg in your backpack and negotiate rough and broken bush land for up to 15km on any given day. Adventure Out will support you in your training and preparation for your trek.
